The Scaligero Castle in Villafranca di Verona is located in the historical city centre of Villafranca. The main entrance is situated at the junction between Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via Zago.



The closest railway station is Villafranca di Verona, on the Verona – Modena line. The Verona – Villafranca train departs every hour from the Porta Nuova station and takes 16′ to reach destination (cost: € 2.70) Unfortunately, the last train for Verona leaves the Villafranca station at 9:00 pm.
The Scaligero Castle is only 600 m from the station. Leave the station and walk straight along Corso Garibaldi. After 400 m, turn left onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and walk 200 m to reach the Scaligero Castle.


Buses travel on the Verona – Villafranca route only in the daytime. Bus lines are nos. 158 and 160.

Villafranca di Verona is located south west of Verona, and can be easily reached from the main highway exits of the area.

If you are coming from VERONA, take SS62 for ca. 15 km directly to the city centre.

If you are coming from either VENICE or MILAN, the recommended exit is Sommacampagna, which is 5 km away.

If you are coming from FLORENCE, BOLOGNA or MODENA, the recommended exit is Nogarole Rocca, which is ca. 5 km away from the city centre.
